Indian Institute of Science Bangalore is going to organize Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering for admission to Post graduate engineering courses. GATE Exam will be held from 30th January 2016 to 07th February 2016. The exam is going to be very competitive as thousands of Students has applied for the Exam. Therefore, it is recommended that the applicants take preparation according to the exam pattern to increase their chance of doing well in the test. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) administer GATE exam every year on rotational basis. The Organizing Institute for GATE 2016 is Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Examination will be conducted two times every year to select the best ever candidates amongst the appeared candidates. Lots of students requiring admission to post graduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship/assistantship at engineering colleges/institutes in the country has applied for the GATE.
GATE 2016 Exam Date
GATE 2016 examination will be held on weekend (Saturday and Sunday) between 30th Jan 2016 and 7th Feb 2016 during forenoon and afternoon sessions. The Examination will be held in multiple sessions for some of the papers. GATE 2016 will be conducted by an Online Computer Based Test (CBT). The online examination will contain Multiple Choice Questions for which the right choice has to be selected and Numerical Answer Type Questions for which numerical answers must be keyed in by the candidate using the virtual keypad.
GATE Exam Pattern 2016
GATE examination question paper will consist of both Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. MCQ will be asked which offers 1 or 2 marks for each correct answer in the paper. There will be total four choices given for each question and candidate’s needs to select correct answer from that. While Numerical Answer Questions will be with 1 or 2 marks weight age and candidates will not be given options for answers. Examination will be of 3-hour duration with 65 questions and a maximum of 100 marks.
GATE Negative Marking 2015-16
There will be 1 mark multiple choice questions and if the answer is wrong then 1/3 marks will be deducted. For 2 marks multiple choice questions if the answer is wrong then 2/3 marks will be deducted. There will be not negative marking system is applicable for Numerical Answer Type questions.

Questions paper includes questions from Networks, Electronic Devices, Analog Circuits, Digital Circuits, Signals and Systems, Control Systems, Communications and Electromagnetic.
GATE Syllabus for Production and Industrial Engineering 2016
Questions will be asked from Engineering Materials, Applied Mechanics, Theory of Machines and Design, Thermal Engineering, Metal Casting, Metal Forming, Metal Joining Processes, Machining and Machine Tool Operations, Tool Engineering, Metrology and Inspection, Powder Metallurgy, Polymers and Composites, Manufacturing Analysis, Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering.
GATE Syllabus for Electrical Engineering 2016
Questions will be come from the following topics: Electric Circuits and Fields, Signals and Systems, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Control Systems, Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Analog and Digital Electronics, Power Electronics and Drives and Mathematics.

Questions will be comes from Linear Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations, Complex Variables, Probability and Statistics, Numerical Methods.
GATE 2016 Examination will be held Online by authority members. There will be only 1 paper of 100 Marks which will contains 65 Question for both multiple choice question as well numerical. Candidates will be having 3 hours time duration to complete this paper. For Right Marks you will be rewarded 1 mark if you give wrong answer then 1/3 marks will be deducted from overall obtained marks in your score card. There will be no negative marking for numerical questions.
