Rajya Sabha Secretariat has successfully conducted the exam on 6th and 11th December 2016 for the candidates those who have applied for the vacant posts of Junior Preliminary Interpreter, Junior Preliminary reporter and other posts. The requirement is for the purpose to hire 143 staffs of Group A, B and C. Rajya Sabha or Council of States

The upper house of the Parliament of India is known as the Rajya Sabha or Council of States. In the Rajya Sabha, the membership of is restricted as per the Constitution of India to a maximum 250 members, and current laws have provision for the maximum number of members that is 245. In this upper house, the members are indirectly elected by state and also using single transferable votes by the territorial legislatures. The President can appoint members for their excellent contribution in the fields of science, art, social services, and literature. In this case, total 12 members can be appointed. Members are allowed to be in the Rajya Sabha for the six-year terms, with one-third of the total members of the upper house retiring every two years.

Rajya Sabha Recruitment Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria:

For Junior Clerk Post: The candidate should be a Graduate or equivalent with typing speed of 40 words per minute in Hindi/ English/ Urdu.

Eligibility Criteria For Translator Post: Must have Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as a subject; or Master’s Degree in English together with Hindi as a subject at the Degree level; or Master’s Degree in any other subject along with Hindi and English as subjects. This educational qualification is must at the Degree level along with the Diploma/ Certificate in Translation from English to Hindi and vice-versa.

  • Junior Parliamentary Interpreter- 18 to 30 years
  • Junior Proof Reader -18 to 30 years
  • Translator- 18 to 30 years
  • Senior Executive/ Legislative/ Committee/ Protocol Assistant- 18 to 27 years
  • Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) – 18 to 27 years
  • Research Assistant – 18 to 27 years
  • Stenographer (English) – 18 to 27 years
  • Security Assistant Gr. II – 18 to 27 years
  • Junior Clerk – 18 to 27 years
  • Junior Library Assistant – 18 to 27 years

Selection Process: Rajya Sabha Secretariat Recruitment Selection Process will be done by the rounds of Preliminary Examination, Written Examination, and Skill Test apart from the Interview.

Application Fee/Examination Fee: Eligible Candidates have to pay the fee of Rs. 160 For General/Un-Reserved Candidates and the application fee is exempted for the SC/ST/PWD/ Ex-Servicemen /Female Candidates.
