Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is accordingly managed by the seven IITs (Kharagpur, Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Madras, Guwahati, and Roorkee) and IISC on a rotation basis. Last year, it is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore. It is the exam for giving admissions to the post-graduate engineering programs like M.Tech, M.E provided by the NITs, IITs, other GFTI and different private institutions. Through GATE, the direct admission in the Ph.D. programme is also being done. Many private and public organisations also acknowledge the score card of the GATE for hiring purpose. GATE Application Form 2017
GATE 2017 registration will be applicable via online mode only. The aspirants are enforced to check the official website of GATE 2017 regulating Institute to fill and submit the application form. The officials give an online interface called GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) through which the applicants can complete their registration process. The application form will be issued from 1st September 2016. Along with your personal details, also keep ready all the certificates like certificate from the principal, category certificate (if any), degree certificate, scanned signature and photograph.

The application fee payment can be processed either through net banking or debit card or e-Challan. The fee structure is as follows:
- For women/ SC/ ST/ PWD – Rs. 750/-
- Other Candidates – Rs. 1500/-
There is only one paper of GATE subsisting of 100 marks. The number of questions asked in the exam will be total 65 questions of objective type and numerical answer type (NAT). The time given to solve the question paper will be a total of 3 hours. There is no choice given for the NAT questions as the answers to such questions will be listed manually using the virtual keyboard present on the computer screen at the time of the exam. Out of total 65 number of questions, 10 questions will be asked from the general aptitude section and carry 15 marks.
GATE is conducted for the 23 papers (along with petroleum engineering introduced last year). The applicants are enforced to choose only one paper as per his/ her choice. There is an isolated syllabus for each paper. The specific syllabus of GATE 2017 will be available soon on our website.
Admit card can be downloaded from the zonal GATE websites. It will be applicable online on 5th January 2016. The information like GOAPS enrolment ID and password is mandatory to download the hall ticket. Along with the hall ticket, one original identity proof is also necessary to enter in the exam hall.
GATE Results 2017 will be attainable on the GATE Online Application Website. It will be released on 27th March 2017. After the release of the result, the successful applicants can download their score card by accessing the GOAPS website.
